  1. What is Touch and Launch?
  2. Touch and Launch is a program to facilitate various features to run using Touch Pad.

    It is very convenient to use in the following cases:
    By customizing the Touch and Launch, you can use it as follows:

  4. Basic operation consists of the following 3 steps.

    1. Shortly after touching the Touch Pad corner, a window as shown in the following figure will appear.

      The blue circle on the window represents the finger location on the Touch Pad.

    2. Slide your finger over the Touch Pad surface to allow your choice of item on the window to correspond to the finger location on the Touch Pad. The item selected will be displayed within a frame.
      The item selected will be displayed within a frame.


    3. Release your finger to execute the item selected.
      If the selected item were displayed with an orange frame, the window would be hidden.
      If the selected item were displayed with a blue frame, the window would stay and the contents would change.

    To close the window without doing anything, release your finger with the upper left item [Close] selected, or release you finger with no item selected.

  6. Table
    A list of available functions will be displayed in the middle section of the window; this is referred to as a table.
    Different tables will be shown at each corner of the Touch Pad.
    The following tables are assigned to each corner by default:

    • Top Left: My Computer
      Displays the contents of my computer.

    • Bottom Left: Favorites
      Internet Explorer favorites are displayed.

    • Top Right: Switch Window
      A list of active windows is displayed.
      When releasing your finger, the selected window becomes active.
      As you select a window, a preview of the window preview will be displayed.

    • Bottom Right: Desktop
      A list of desktop icons is displayed.
      When releasing your finger, the selected icon activates.


    Table assignment to the corners can be changed freely.
    Instead of the above 4 tables, the following tables can be assigned to each corner by default:

    • Table List
      A list of tables is displayed. Release your finger to switch to the selected table.

    • My Documents
      A list of files and folders in my documents is displayed.

    • Programs
      A list of programs registered to the Start Menu is displayed.

    • My Recent Documents
      A list of files recently used is displayed.

    Also you can create a table to show the contents of any specific folder as well as a table with free allocation of files, folders, keyboard shortcuts, and so on.

    Common items for every table
    Common items for every table are displayed in the upper edge and lower edge column on the window.

    • Corner
      The table assigned to each corner is displayed.
      Release your finger to switch to the selected table.

    • [Back]
      Switch to the last displayed table.

    • [Close]
      Close the window.

    • [Settings]
      Display setting window.


    • Name Order/Date Order
      Displayed in a table listing files and folders.
      You can choose whether to sort by name or by modified date


    • Table settings
      Displayed when current table can be customized.

  7. Taskbar Icon
  8. "Touch and Launch" icon will be shown in the taskbar notification area.
    Double-click the icon to show a setting window.


    The icon changes its color after you touch the Touch Pad corner until the Touch Pad window is hidden.
    If the icon doesn't change color when the corner is touched, try again after releasing your finger. In some cases the touching location may be too far from the corner.

    Right click the icon to show the menu.
    You can choose the following items:

  10. Select [Settings] item, or right click the taskbar icon and select [Settings ] from the menu, to start a setting window for Touch and Launch.


    [Corner Assignment]
    You can change tables to assign to each corner.
    Click at the corner you wish to change, to show a list of tables and select the table to assign.
    [Touch Pad settings] Button
    You can change various settings for Touch Pad.



    [Window Settings] Button
    You can configure transparency and size of the window.
    [Option] Button
    You can configure how to open a folder, visual effects, and help display.
    [Table]
    A list of tables available
    Custom Table settings
    Press [New Table] button and select a custom table, or select a newly created custom table and press the [Settings] button to show a custom table setting window.




    Current contents of the table are shown in the blue area on the right side of the window
    You can change the position of items by dragging and dropping here.

    Right click the item to show a menu, and you can delete and configure the items.
    Configuration is available only for some items with setting parameters.

    You can add new items by dragging and dropping items in the area on the right of the screen from the tab on the left side of the window, or by dragging and dropping files/folders from Explorer.
    The following items can be registered to the custom table.


    You can change the name of the table by editing the edit control on the upper left of the window.

  12. The followings are some useful feature examples of Touch and Launch.

    The operational methods described in this document have default settings.
    If you changed the settings, modify the operational methods accordingly.
    Open a file on Desktop
    1. Touch the bottom right corner of the Touch Pad to show the [Desktop] table.
      A list of desktop icons is shown in [Desktop] table.


    2. Slide your finger over the Touch Pad surface to select the item to open.


    3. Release your finger to open the selected item.

    Show a list of windows and switch the active window
    1. Touch the top right corner of the Touch Pad to show the [Switch Window] table.
      A list of active windows is shown in [Switch Window] table.


    2. Slide your finger over the Touch Pad surface to select the window to activate.

      When you select a window and wait a few seconds, a preview the selected window is shown.


    3. Release your finger to activate the selected window.

    Open Internet Explorer Favorites
    1. Touch the bottom left corner of the Touch Pad to show the [Favorites] table.
      A list of Internet Explorer Favorites is shown in the [Favorites] table.


    2. Slide your finger over the Touch Pad surface to select the page to open.
      If the page you want to open exists in a folder, select the folder.


    3. If you selected a folder, release your finger to show the contents of the folder selected.
      Repeat this procedure until you open the folder containing the page to open.


    4. Select the page and release your finger to open the selected page.

    Open a file in a specified folder
    1. Open the [Touch and Launch Setting] window.

    2. Press the [New Table] button.

    3. When a window as shown in the following figure appears, select [Folder].


    4. When a window to select a folder appears, select the folder to open and press the [OK] button.


    5. The selected folder is added as a new table. Assign it to a corner in [Corner Assignment].


      When the configuration is completed, press the [OK] button to close the [Touch and Launch Settings] window.

    6. Touch the corner to which the folder is assigned, and a list of files and folders in a specified folder is shown.

      Slide your finger to select a file/folder.
      Release your finger to open the selected file/folder.

    Register an application and start it from Touch and Launch
    1. Open the [Touch and Launch Settings] window.

    2. Press the [New Table] button.

    3. When a window as shown in the following figure appears, select [Custom Table].


    4. Custom table setting window will appear.
      You can add new items by dragging and dropping to the blue area on the right side of the window, from Windows Explorer or the Start Menu.


      Here you can also register various items other than applications.

    5. To change the name of the table, type the name in the edit box on the upper left of the window.


    6. When you finished editing, press the [OK] button to close the window.
      Assign the new table to a corner in [Corner Assignment].

      When the configuration is complete, press the [OK] button to close the [Touch and Launch Settings] window.

    7. Touch the corner to which you assigned the table, the contents of the newly created table will be shown.

      Slide your finger over the Touch Pad surface and select the application to start.
      Release your finger to start the selected application
